The Department of Psychology at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor position in Psychology. We are looking for someone who can specifically teach Psychopathology this coming Fall 2026.

The Department of Psychology seeks to enhance the intellectual and social growth of students and to develop a critical mindset for its students through academic rigor and a significant involvement in the learning process. The Department provides a plethora of opportunities to develop critical thinking skills, practice social research, enhance professional communication skills, develop a stronger sense of how to support well-being in your life, and improve awareness of global issues. 

This adjunct position will require a teaching load of 4 credits for the spring semester. This course will be taught in-person (on campus) at St. Joseph's College; each course meets twice a week for 1 hour and 45 minutes per class. 


Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Masters in Psychology; PhD preferred 

  • Relevant teaching experience in Psychology 

  • Commitment to using up-to-date and best practice pedagogical methods, including syllabus and curriculum design

  • Willingness to prioritize student learning and to form genuine connections with students
