Description:
Learn to operate one/two casting machines.
- Learn to fill out daily production report and learn to recognize the various cosmetic defects.
- Learn the required quality acceptance criteria for cast components.
- Learn the proper installation and operating procedures for air and water lines. Learn the proper methods for installing filter screens.
- Inform lead person or foreman on any problems with the machines, molds or cosmetic defects.
- Learn to recognize bad spruce bushing and spreaders and report to the lead person or foreman.
- Date stamp cast only visually acceptable component parts.
- Learn how to keep accurate production count.
- When not learning to operate casting machines, assist in ice-blasting molds, changing molds, clean area or other duties as instructed by lead person or foreman.
- Do not leave casting machine alone.
- Wear the appropriate safety equipment at all times, attend scheduled safety meetings and conduct one's self in a manner respectful to others, equipment, and tools.
- Perform other jobs as assigned.
- Has the responsibility and authority for controlling quality as delegated by management.
- Have tools ready for TA at end of shift
- Communicate with incoming operator when they show up to relieve you
- Have paperwork filled out completely (in casting office)
- Turn in paperwork to TA and wait for TA to check (if any corrections need to be made then operator will correct them at this time)
- Once paperwork is ok'd by TA's (signed off) operator is free to leave
Requirements:
EDUCATION LEVEL :
High School Diploma/GED equivalent. Employee must be able to run one or two casting machines.
SKILLS TECHNIQUES (KNOW-HOW): Technical know-how:
- Understand casting process
- Follow documentation processes
- Notify management when process is not being followed
