The Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) / Respiratory Therapist (RRT) delivers respiratory therapy treatments and pulmonary diagnostic services in an acute care setting, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of care across all patient populations.

Saint Francis Hospital offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $40.15 to $43.80. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.

- Tier Level 1: $40.15/hour
- 3 shifts per 6 week schedule (1 shift must be weekend)
- One major holiday per year
- Tier Level 2: $42.00/hour
- 6 shifts per 6 week schedule (2 shifts must be weekend)
- One major holiday and one minor holiday per year
- Tier Level 3: $43.80/hour
- Ten shifts per 6 week schedule (3 shifts must be weekend)
- Two major holidays and one minor holiday per year

The Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) / Respiratory Therapist (RRT) delivers respiratory therapy treatments and pulmonary diagnostic services in an acute care setting, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of care across all patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments (oxygen, aerosol, airway management)
- Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems
- Perform pulmonary diagnostics (ABGs, PFTs)
- Implement patient-specific respiratory care plans
- Document care in the EMR
- Respond to code blue and rapid response events
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes
- May serve as Lead RCP during assigned shifts
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
- Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate preferred.
- Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
- Two (2) years of acute care experience preferred.
