GENERAL SUMMARY
The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist (PSR) will use rehabilitation interventions individualized, collaborative, hands-on training to build developmentally appropriate skills for child/youth in care. The intent is to promote personal independence, autonomy, and mutual supports by developing and strengthening the individual’s independent community living skills and support community integration in the domains of employment, housing, education, in both personal and community life. The services provided will restore, rehabilitate, and support a child’s/youth’s developmentally appropriate functioning as necessary for the integration of the child/youth as an active and productive member of their family and community with the goal of achieving minimal on-going professional intervention. Applicants are required to work flexible schedule, including a minimum of one weekend day each week.
SOME OF THE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Foster and promote the development of skills identified in assessment or through the ongoing treatment of a licensed practitioner
- Deliver services in a trauma informed, culturally, and linguistically competent manner
- Provide services to children/youth within the context of each child’s treatment plan
- Provide child/youth with social and interpersonal skills with the goal to restore, rehabilitate, and support
- Develop coping strategies and effective functioning in the individual’s social environment, including home, work, and school locations
- Support the effect of the child’s diagnosis and re-establish daily functioning skills and personal autonomy skills including but not limited to learning self-care, developing personal interests, managing medication and treatments, learning about community resources, and good health routines

- Ability to interact with and complete assignments in a manner sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma required. High school equivalency preferred, or a State Education Commencement Credential with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in children’s mental health, addition and/or foster care OR
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in social work, psychology, or other related human services OR
- Master’s degree in social work psychology or in related human services
