What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packaging Shift Supervisor position at Saint Arnold Brewing Company?
Description
Saint Arnold is a small company, and this position will have many different responsibilities. The focus is to work and lead the packaging lines & workers. We are seeking a person with a strong mechanical aptitude. Below is a partial list of the activities of this position:
- Supervise Packaging Shift: Responsible for knowing and understanding operation of all packaging equipment. Monitor the production schedule and plan the shift to meet the production needs. Assign responsibilities to employees. Verify product meets quality standards. Train and coach team members. Enforce safety standards and SOP protocols. Reports directly to Packaging Supervisor.
- Performs Preventative Maintenance: Required to perform some minor preventative maintenance tasks. Assist packaging supervisor(s) & pack maintenance in major preventative maintenance.
- Work on the Packaging Lines: Reviewing production schedule. Responsible for set up of a Filler and other machines, operation and clean up. During the run, focus is keeping the package line running efficiently, maintaining proper levels of supplies to the proper machinery. Wrapping pallets and preparing them for shipping.
- Sanitation and Cleanliness: Team leader is responsible for keeping packaging department extremely clean and sanitized. Also making sure the team is keeping their machines clean. Sanitation and cleanliness is the main key in making beer.
- Moving packaging inventory: Preparing for a package run. Counting material and making sure the proper amounts and type of material is ready.
- Record keeping: Accurately track and report supplies used, and beer packaged as required.
- Other: Help with miscellaneous brewery tasks including maintaining building and grounds and other projects as they come up.
- Schedule: This is a full-time position, but the schedule will change as needed.
Requirements
- Physical abilities: Strong mechanical aptitude. Must be able to pick up and stack 35 lb cases for a sustained period. Must be able to pull hoses, bend down and clamp hoses under tanks and lift empty kegs above your head. Must be able to work standing for 8 continuous hours.
- Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Other Information
Health Insurance: After 3 months, you will be included on our health insurance program.
401K: After one year of employment, you will become eligible to participate in our 401K. Currently the company matches up to the first 10% of the employee’s salary that the employee contributes to the plan. Company contributions vest over a period of time.
Profit Sharing: After one year of employment, employee is eligible to receive profit sharing contributions to 401K that may be allocated after the end of the year. Profit sharing contributions vest over a period of time.
