What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Registration Specialist II position at Saint Alphonsus Health System?
As a Patient Access Specialist II, you must be cross-trained to work in most registration areas and can flex to other areas as needed. You will assist with new staff training, auditing, gathering statistics, ordering materials, and scheduling. You serve as a mentor for new staff, reflecting a positive attitude towards all company policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 6 months of experience as a Patient Access Specialist in the Medical Center.
Cross-trained in 3 or more registration areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
Excels at all essential functions of the Patient Access Specialist I job description.
Cross-trained and is able to work in multiple registration areas.
Assists in training and auditing of other Registrars. Maintains accurate audit records of assigned trainees.
Completes timely insurance verification of required accounts and accurately documents accounts as required by position assignment.
Schedules patient services with patients as required in ancillary departments.
Performs accurate and timely entry of patient charges and daily charge audit activities as defined by work process.
Assists in completing the staff schedules as needed.
Demonstrates excellent knowledge of and complies with regulations for HIPAA, MSP, JCAHO and any other Government regulations required of registration staff.
Works department reports and does timely entry of department benchmarking metrics as defined by supervisor.
