What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Clerk position at SAIMZ Pharmacy?

This position is accountable for providing the following result: To provide exceptional customer service to any customer entering the pharmacy. This includes but is not limited to: greeting customers, assisting with locating OTC items, retrieving Rx’s, correctly checking out customers, and maintaining cleanliness in the front of the pharmacy.

Education
High school or equivalent.
Experience
Customer service experience preferred
Language:
Ability to read, write, and speak in English to facilitate clear communications on technical and business topics.
Spanish (must-have)
Strategic Work:
Recommend improvements to our operations, services, and products to better meet customer needs.
Tactical Work:
1. Greet customers within the front counter.
2. Identify patient, verifying birth date, address, and phone.
3. Retrieve Rx’s form will call bin. Notify appropriate technician of any Rx’s not yet complete.
4. Make sure patient is getting all desired medications, Rx and OTC.
5. Ring up sales correctly and make sure the register is counted down correctly at the end of the day.
6. Obtain payment from the patient ensuring all information on any checks received is correct.
7. Confirm that personal checks have a driver’s license # or SSN and birth date, correct address, and phone, are filled out for the correct amount and are signed by the customer.
8. Make sure patient signs for all Rx’s received and for HIPAA policies when applicable.
9. Thank each patient and wish him or her a good day before the patient walks away from the register.
10. Check with patients to see if they would like to speak to a pharmacist.
11. Deliver any messages to the patient that does not need to be delivered by the RPh.
12. Resolve any POS and/or credit card transaction difficulties to the appropriate vendor.
13. Clean shelves, face shelves, check for out-of-stock items, overstocked items, and outdated items once weekly.
14. Daily chores listed on the calendar are to be completed by end of the day.
