Description



SAIC is seeking a Zscaler Administrator to support a mission-critical U.S. government agency in the National Capital Region. This hybrid position is part of the Network Operations team and supports the day-to-day administration, monitoring, and operational stability of enterprise cybersecurity platforms, with a focus on Zscaler technologies (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX) within a Microsoft-based environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on operational experience with Zscaler services across cloud, network, and identity domains, and supports ongoing platform administration, troubleshooting, policy updates, and user onboarding activities. This role focuses on operational execution and ticket-based support while collaborating with engineering, network and security teams on configuration improvements and compliance requirements, also contributing to policy management, Zero Trust initiatives.

This hybrid role requires a minimum of three on-site days per week in Washington, DC.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2 operational support for Zscaler services within a hybrid cloud and on-prem network environment
• Administer and support Zscaler services (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX) including user onboarding, policy updates, and monitoring
• Configure and maintain security policies under guidance from senior engineers and architects under Security governance
• Support integration with Microsoft platforms including Azure AD, SAML Conditional Access, and Intune
• Troubleshoot user connectivity issues, traffic steering, authentication failures, and application access problems
• Support Client Connector deployment, upgrades, version testing, rollback procedures and lifecycle management
• Perform routine health checks and document operational procedures (SOPs, knowledge articles)
• Perform log analysis and coordinate with Zscaler Engineer and Zscaler TAC for troubleshooting
• Participate in change management processes and execute approved changes
• Collaborate with Security, Network, Service Desk, and Endpoint teams to ensure SLA adherence and service reliability
  
  

Qualifications



Required

• BS in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (4 years experience in lieu of degree)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust requiring U.S. Citizenship
• Minimum 2–3 years of IT or cybersecurity experience supporting network, cloud, or endpoint technologies
• 1 year of hands-on experience administering or supporting Zscaler services (ZIA, ZPA, or ZDX)
• Familiarity with identity integrations (SAML, Azure AD) and secure web gateway concepts
• Good knowledge of network troubleshooting (DNS, TCP/IP, proxy behavior, firewall, authentication flows)
• Experience working in ticket-based operational environments (ServiceNow or similar)
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
  
  

Desired Qualifications

• Exposure to Zero Trust architecture principles
• Familiarity with Microsoft security tools (Defender, Intune, Azure AD)
• Experience supporting DLP, EDR, or SIEM platforms
• Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell or similar)
• Relevant certifications such as Zscaler Digital Transformation Administrator (ZDTA), Security , or Microsoft SC-900
  
  

Target salary range $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
