Description
SAIC is seeking a Modeling Engineer-Scientist to support the Next Generation Submarine Battery program in Crane, IN.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and validate thermal and electrochemical models to support battery system design and performance assessment
- Apply MATLAB for model development, simulation, and analysis
- Support modeling activities related to multi-physics interactions within NiZn, Lead-Acid, and Lithium battery systems
- Assist with developing complex thermal and electrochemical models
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related scientific discipline and five (5) years of experience
- Experience with thermal modeling
- Proficiency in MATLAB
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based, technical environment
- Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance; can start once interim clearance is granted. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in electrical and chemical modeling
- Familiarity with ANSYS thermal modeling tools
