Description
SAIC is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer for shipboard Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) major systems. This program is a part of a transformative venture, driving the future of next generation afloat mission effectiveness in response to evolving strategic and environmental demands.
Work is performed on site in Pascagoula, MS.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive review of integrated C5ISR systems design drawings to support readiness for Critical Design Review for a new ship construction.
- Review for contractual compliance and redline engineering documents such as block diagrams, electrical wiring diagrams, interface design documents, installation control documents, and function interface diagrams.
- Assess C5ISR hardware configurations (eg, cabinets/trays/fixtures/sway braces/cables/connectors) and perform engineering analysis for contractual and MIL-D-23140 D (Installation Control Drawings) compliance.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and Nine (9) years or more relevant experience with one or more shipboard C5ISR systems listed below *. Masters and Seven (7) years or more related experience. BS degree maybe offset with additional (4) years relevant experience.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements.
- Experience with Autocad or similar.
- Relevant C3ISR, C4ISR, C5ISR, and/or C6ISR Shipboard Systems
- Integrated Bridge System.
- Gyrocompass (e.g., WSN-7).
- Surface Search Radars (e.g., AN/SPY-6, SPS-series).
- UHF, HF, VHF Marine Radios.
- Shipboard Communication Cabinets.
- Shipboard Alarms and Interior Communications (Safety, Warning Systems).
- Fathometer and Depth Sounding Systems.
- Global Positioning Systems (GPS).
- Sonar Mission System (SMS).
- Extremely High Frequency (EHF) Communications.
- NIPRNET, SIPRNET, SI LAN.
- Prior experience providing support for a shipyard environment project.
- Experience with shipboard cableways, cables and connectors including fiber, coaxial, cat5, and twisted pairs.
- Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) IAT level I.
- Prior experience working in a Firm Fixed Price environment.
