Description
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on enterprise networking; four (4) years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Hands-on SSR expertise, including session failover configurations and performance optimization in high-availability systems.
- Proficiency with state replication for firewalls, load balancers, and routers.
- Experience with HSRP, VRRP, SSO (Cisco), or other redundancy protocols.
- Advanced understanding of networking protocols and technologies
- DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPN, and NAT/PAT.
- In-depth experience configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless solutions from leading vendors (Cisco, Juniper, F5, Palo Alto, or similar).
- Expertise with Ansible for automation and orchestration, including
- Writing custom playbooks and roles.
- Automating configuration management and deployment processes for network devices.
- Familiarity with containerization and cloud networking technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with other network automation frameworks such as Python, Terraform, or Chef.
- Knowledge of load balancing technologies (e.g., F5 BIG-IP, Citrix ADC) and features like session persistence.
- Strong understanding of network security protocols and controls (e.g., SSL, VPN, firewalls).
- Familiarity with SD-WAN and Network Function Virtualization (NFV).
- Cisco certifications CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.
- Automation-focused credentials Cisco DevNet Associate/Professional, Red Hat Ansible certifications.
- Security certifications CompTIA Security , CISSP, or equivalent.
- Must have an active secret clearance on first day of employment.
