SAIC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join in and support our team in Indianapolis, IN facility.
Job Description
You will be working in a dynamic environment to support manufacturing on engineering issues. You will be supporting multiple Navy/Army/Air Force projects of various scales. You will hone your teamwork skills and gain engineering experience in engineering drawings and manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM)
As an engineering team member, you will
- Evaluate drawings and technical documents around specific systems. This will require direction from engineering project leads.
- Understand and use military and/or commercial specifications in manufacturing to disposition non-conformances of parts.
- Create deviations for approval and engineering change recommendations to drawings.
- Work with Quality Assurance and Logistics teams to determine actions to meet schedules and timelines
- Act as a liaison between design engineering and logistics for production.
- Support implementation of manufacturing bills of materials for procurement and engineering
- Participate in weekly meetings
- Ability to work well within a fast paced, team environment.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- HS and two (2) or more years of college coursework in a technical field, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Knowledge and ability to interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials / parts list.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software.
