Role & Responsibilities
Our Commissary Kitchen team is responsible for the preparation and production of high-quality food items that support multiple Sahm’s locations. This role focuses less on line cooking and more on batch prep, organization, consistency, and production efficiency in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
In this role, you will be focused on:
- Preparing large batches of food items according to company recipes and production standards.
- Portioning, labeling, packaging, and organizing prepared food products for distribution.
- Maintaining food quality, consistency, and freshness standards across all production items.
- Assisting with inventory organization, stock rotation, and ingredient prep.
- Operating kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, ovens, prep stations, and packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment while following all food safety procedures.
- Supporting the kitchen team with daily production goals and timelines.
- Assisting with receiving deliveries and organizing storage areas including coolers and dry storage.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the kitchen and leadership team.
- At least 18 years of age preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Previous kitchen prep, commissary, catering, bakery, or food production experience.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Experience working with batch recipes or high-volume food preparation.
