Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care and daily living assistance. Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition according to dietary needs
- Conduct patient observation to identify changes in condition or behavior, reporting findings promptly to healthcare professionals
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer residents with heavy lifting needs
- Maintain cleanliness by performing light cleaning duties in resident rooms and common areas to promote hygiene and comfort
- Follow established care plans tailored to individual needs, including Alzheimer's, dementia, autism, or developmental disabilities care
- Document all care activities thoroughly while adhering to HIPAA standards for patient privacy and confidentiality
- Engage in ongoing training related to first aid, CPR, hospice care, and other relevant certifications to ensure preparedness for emergencies
Skills
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings with a focus on senior or disability care
- Strong knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry efficiently
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and safety procedures
- Compassionate approach with patience for working with individuals experiencing dementia or memory loss
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks and prolonged periods of standing or walking
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders is highly valued
- Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately while demonstrating flexibility as needs evolve
