POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the direct supervision of the Site Supervisor, this position provides kitchen support for a variety of tasks related to kitchen production and food service responsibilities. This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
Shift: Minimum 3.0 hours/day on an "on call" basis
Compensation: $14.00 per hour
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED
- Ability to work cooperatively with all employees, students and parents
- Punctual and must have an excellent attendance record
- Good organizational skills
- Knowledge of Health Department Regulations for food safety and sanitation
- Must be capable of passing agility testing and basic physical
- Ability to bend, twist, reach and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis along with walking, bending and standing for long periods of time and other physical requirements of the job
- Ability to push and/or pull loaded carts
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under tight time schedules
- Must have pleasant demeanor with children and young adults
- Ability to take direction from others and follow instruction
- Willing to work in any of the schools serviced by STCS Nutrition Services
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist and/or operate all kitchen equipment as needed
- Assist with food preparation when assigned
- Serve during lunch periods
- Capable of completing all general kitchen duties efficiently-preparation, meal service, clean up, washing pots and pans, washing dishes and putting stock away
- Any other duties which may be assigned
