Tax Associate – Sales Tax
Sagent Management is a growing and dynamic accounting and tax firm headquartered in Silicon Valley that offers accounting, tax, and management consulting services to publicly-traded companies, privately-held businesses, and high-net-worth individuals.
Position Description
The Tax Associate - Sales Tax is primarily responsible for preparing and reviewing state sales tax returns. We are looking for a talented individual who wants to be an important part of our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare sales and use tax returns.
- Provide excellent client service to multi-state companies with state and local tax issues, including compliance, advisory services, planning, and controversy.
- Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities.
- Research and draft technical memoranda regarding state and local tax issues.
- Conduct tax research and planning.
- Maintain a good working relationship with clients.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree, Accounting and/or Finance major preferred
- Possess and maintain a thorough knowledge of tax laws and issues
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and complete projects in a growing and fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills
- High proficiency in Excel and tax software
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a team
- Excellent attention to detail
