What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contoller position at Sagency?
Controller
Twin Valley Tire
Milbank, SD
About Twin Valley Tire
Twin Valley Tire is a trusted part of the Milbank, South Dakota, community. It now serves customers from six locations: Milbank, Sisseton, Webster, and Miller in South Dakota, and Wheaton and Benson in Minnesota.
The company carries tires and wheels for agricultural, commercial, passenger and light truck, trailer, lawn and garden, and ATV use, plus tracks for farm equipment. Brands include Alliance, BKT, Firestone, Goodyear, Michelin, Titan, and Trelleborg. On any given day the team might switch a sprayer from flotation tires to narrow row-crop tires, put new front tires on a combine, retread tires for a commercial fleet, or handle brakes and an alignment on a family car.
Service is the other side of the business. Twin Valley Tire repairs, rotates, balances, and studs tires in the shop and sends crews out to farms for tire, wheel, and track work. It also refinishes wheels, and its auto bays handle oil changes, batteries, alignments, brakes, A/C, and suspension.
The team’s stated priority is keeping customers safe on the road, with expert service, honest customer care, and fair prices. For a Controller, the breadth matters as much as the service: each product line carries its own pricing, freight, and vendor terms.
About the Opportunity
Twin Valley Tire is hiring a hands-on Controller to protect the company’s financial integrity and give ownership and operating leaders clear, timely financial information they can act on. The Controller reports to the Chief Operating Officer, leads the accounting team, and works closely with ownership and the leaders who run each location and business line.
Retail, commercial, agricultural, wholesale, and service each have their own pricing, margins, and costs. The Controller connects results to the decisions behind them, keeps accounting consistent across six locations, and raises issues early.
The search places particular weight on inventory. With a product range this wide, inventory valuation, freight, rebates, and vendor credits are where margin is most easily lost, and Twin Valley Tire wants a Controller who has owned that problem in a comparable business and fixed it.
Success means operating leaders trust the financial statements, understand performance by location and business line, and hear about cash, margin, or control concerns in time to act. Accounting runs the same way at every location, the team delivers on schedule, and the analysis leads to better operating decisions.

Maintain dependable cash visibility and disciplined management of receivables, payables, collections, credit exposure, and banking.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Translate operating plans into realistic forecasts and actionable financial guidance.
