What are the responsibilities and job description for the Videographer position at SageContent?
Denver, CO (in-studio in LoHi, occasional off-site shoots during the week)
$60,000 starting discretionary bonus 401k match
About SageContent:
SageContent is an AI-powered video marketing platform built specifically for financial advisors. We help RIAs and independent advisors turn their expertise into content that actually generates leads. We complement our software and implementation work by inviting financial advisors to come out to our studio to shoot their videos.
We're a small, fast-moving team based in Denver, and we're looking for a videographer to build out a new studio space, expertly handle video recording (camera, audio, lighting), and host clients over multi-day studio appointments.
The Role:
Our clients fly into Denver for 1-4 day studio sessions. Most of them have never been on camera before. They’re nervous, self-conscious, and convinced they’re going to be bad at it.
Your job is to prove them wrong.
This isn’t a “press record and hide behind the camera” kind of job. This is running the room, taking creative ownership, coaching people who don’t think they belong on camera, and ensuring an organized footage hand off to the editing team.
What you’ll actually be doing:
- Operating gear (camera, lights, mics) and owning everything that comes out of the camera.
- Coaching clients through script delivery so they sound confident instead of stiff. This requires actively listening, providing ongoing feedback, and operating the teleprompter simultaneously over long filming sessions.
- Sitting down with clients at breakfast and lunch. Food’s covered, but it’s not just eating, it’s making sure the clients feel comfortable and enjoy their experience from start to finish.
- Managing the client’s video project within our native software, including updating scripts, tracking video counts, and adding shooting notes.
- Handling small fixes after shoots: color grading, trimming, exports, before footage goes to our editing team.
- Keeping gear in good shape and files organized so nothing gets lost.
- Shooting both short-form (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) and long-form (10-15 min YouTube).
When you’re not shooting or polishing, you’re scheduling future studio sessions, answering technical videography questions for off-site clients, researching other creators, improving your process, and collaborating with the editors to make the final product even better next time.
What your days would look like:
By 8am Monday, your gear is prepped, scripts are ready, and the studio is clean. 8:15am, you’re at breakfast with clients, getting them talking and relaxed. At 9am, you’re dialing in lights and mics. By 9:30am, you’re filming and coaching a client who swears they “hate how they look on camera.” At noon, you’re at lunch with them, keeping the conversation flowing. By 1pm, you’re back in the studio making sure the footage is tight and the client’s energy stays high. By the end of the day, the client has recorded 40 videos and feels like they just did the impossible. You then make sure all the gear is safe, the day's footage is backed up, and that batteries are charging so that you can do it again the next day.
Weekly Schedule (it will vary week to week):
- Monday - Wednesday/Thursday: In-studio filming.
- Thursday/Friday: Client communications, footage touch ups and handoffs, creative research, reporting to the team, and prep for the next week.
- Occasional travel(weekdays) for off-site shoots.
Studio days are high-energy. You’ll be on your feet, running the room, and keeping clients calm from 8am-5pm. The back half of the week is quieter, focused on scheduling, fine tuning processes, client success, and team synergy.
What We’re Looking For:
- Early-career creative who is a social media native.
- Someone excited to join a fast paced, ever changing start-up atmosphere.
- Comprehensive technical skills in camera, lighting, and sound.
- Steady under pressure. Gear will break, clients will freeze, schedules will slip. You keep moving.
- Some experience with color grading and editing software (Premiere, DaVinci, etc.)
- A background or interest in personal finance (you will have the opportunity to learn a lot).
- Comfortable using project management tools (we use Asana, Slack, Notion and others).
- Personable. If small talk drains you, this isn’t your job.
- Detail-oriented to the point of being a little obsessive.
Backgrounds that transfer well:
- Wedding/ event videography or photography
- Camera department positions in film/ video production
- Set PA in film/ video production
- Production coordinator in film/ video production
- Marketing coordinator or similar role at an advisory firm
Who you’ll work with directly:
- Lead Videographer and Studio Director (Grant) who will be hosting other clients in another studio space simultaneously, just down the street
- Lead Editor (Sean) and his team of 18 video editors
- Co-Founder and CEO (Nate)
Our Values:
- All In, Always - If you’re not excited about it, don’t do it.
- Extreme Ownership - If your name’s on it, it should be your best work.
- Obsessive Precision - Details matter. You notice things most people don’t.
- “What If” Mindset - You don’t accept flawed systems, you shamelessly recommend improvements.
Why You’ll Like It Here:
- You’ll be the person clients remember when they think back to their time in the studio.
- Clear opportunities to grow quickly with the company.
- We’ll invest in your development: gear, tools, training, trends.
- Unlimited PTO with flexibility around shoot days.
- $60k starting salary discretionary bonus.
- 401k with safe harbor match (100% of first 3%, 50% of next 2%).
- Health, dental, vision coming later this year.
- Breakfast and lunch covered on shoot days.

If you want to shoot, coach, and grow with the leading content marketing agency for financial advisors, you’ll do well here.
Denver applicants only (must be on-site in LoHi).

Send us your resume and your reel, or one piece of work you’re proud of. Doesn’t have to be fancy. We just want to see how you see things.
