What You’ll Be Doing;
- Monitor and interpret legislation, regulatory updates, and best practices across North America, with a global lens.
- Advise product and engineering teams on compliance requirements, including sales tax, identity and KYC, payment, data privacy, and electronic invoicing.
- Engage with regulatory authorities and trade bodies, helping to influence Sage’s strategic direction in compliance.
- Create clear, actionable assets and guidance to support internal and external stakeholders.
- Become the subject matter expert for US compliance, building strong cross-functional relationships.
- Proven experience reviewing legislation, tax, or accounting standards.
- A professional qualification in accounting or tax (e.g. CPA preferred) or equivalent practical experience.
- Ideally you will be a part qualified or fully qualified accountant
- At least 2 years post-qualification experience in a compliance, tax, or regulatory role preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex regulatory content.
- Experience using AI and software in a business capacity preferred.
- Fluent Spanish is desirable (but not essential), particularly for translating Spanish compliance materials into English.
