Housekeeping Supervisor Position Job Description
As the Housekeeping Supervisor at Sage Valley Golf Club, you will play a dual role by both supervising and actively participating in daily housekeeping tasks. Reporting directly to the Director of Housekeeping and the housekeeping management team, you will ensure that daily operations are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Strong leadership, excellent communication, and a collaborative, hands-on approach are essential in this role to foster a positive and productive environment. Availability to work primarily after 10 AM, with flexibility to cover other shifts, is required.
Pay is negotiable based on experience and professional references.
Key Responsibilities, Supervision and Leadership:
- Oversee housekeeping operations, focusing on laundry and turndown services.
- Lead by example, working alongside staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
- Train, mentor, and monitor the performance of housekeeping staff, inspiring teamwork and accountability.
- Report daily updates and operational insights to the Director of Housekeeping and the housekeeping management team.
- Help strategize and plan daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with the club's standards of excellence.
Daily Operations:
- Inspect assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
- Proactively monitor workload demands in comparison to the schedule and recommend staffing adjustments to the management team as needed.
- Communicate with staff regarding schedules set by the department, as well as standards and procedures, to ensure clarity and alignment with expectations.
- Ensure proper use and care of housekeeping supplies and equipment.
- Learn and operate all laundry and housekeeping equipment effectively, and train team members as needed.
- Assist with inventory management for linens, supplies, and cleaning materials.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, inventory, and staff assignments.
- Collaborate with management to implement and enforce housekeeping policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with other departments to address specific cleaning or setup requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping or a related field.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team in a hands-on environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative and positive workplace.
- Availability to work flexible hours, primarily after 10 AM.
- Hands-on approach to managing and performing housekeeping tasks.
- Quick learner with the ability to operate all laundry and housekeeping equipment effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain high-quality standards.
- Ability to lift and move objects as needed and operate housekeeping equipment.
