Role Description The Truck Driver role at SAGE Truck Driving School in Lexington, SC is a full-time, on-site position. In this role, the driver will safely operate commercial vehicles, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and follow all federal, state, and local transportation regulations. Daily tasks include planning routes, securing and transporting freight, maintaining accurate driving logs and delivery records, and communicating effectively with dispatch and customers. The driver is expected to uphold safety standards, report any vehicle issues, and maintain a professional demeanor while representing SAGE on the road. Occasional assistance with training activities, mentoring new drivers, or participating in safety meetings may also be part of the role.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL (Class A or appropriate class) and a clean driving record, with strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures.
- Proven experience operating commercial trucks, including performing thorough vehicle inspections and basic equipment troubleshooting.
- Ability to manage time effectively, plan efficient routes, and keep accurate logs and documentation.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with a professional approach when interacting with dispatch, colleagues, and customers.
