Sage Search Partners is seeking a Assistant Tax Director for a well-established financial services firm based in Dallas, TX. This individual will work closely with senior tax leadership, owning tax compliance and consulting across the firm's fund entities and related investment structures.

Responsibilities
- Advise on tax matters related to fund investments, including dividend, interest, and capital gains rules across domestic and international jurisdictions
- Partner with investment professionals to develop and implement tax-efficient structures
- Consult on federal, state, and local tax issues related to the firm's operations and ownership structures
- Oversee preparation of U.S. and international tax returns for fund entities and related structures
- Coordinate with internal finance and accounting teams to gather data for tax return preparation
- Manage Form 1099 and Form 1042 reporting processes
- Monitor ASC 740 tax exposures and prepare annual reporting for auditors
- Drive special projects including policy documentation, process improvement, and data analysis
- Partner with internal teams to enhance and optimize tax systems and workflows
- Oversee tax depreciation calculations and reporting
Client Requirements
- CPA strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline with a GPA of 3.5 or higher
- 8-12 years of progressive tax experience, including 3 years at the Manager level or above
- Deep experience in financial services, asset management, private equity, or hedge fund tax
- Big 4 public accounting background preferred; strong tenure with relevant financial services experience also considered
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and team oversight experience
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly grasp complex tax concepts
