Maintenance Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Assistant to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our residential and manufacturing environments. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and well-functioning facility by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting various repair projects. Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, machinery, and equipment using schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Perform repairs involving welding, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical tasks to resolve issues promptly.
• Assist with residential painting projects and general facilities upkeep to enhance the appearance and safety of the property.
• Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and schedule future tasks.
• Support supervising staff by assisting in coordinating maintenance activities and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Respond effectively to emergency repairs or urgent maintenance requests to minimize downtime or safety hazards.

Experience

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field within hospitals, skilled nursing homes or residential settings, preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience, including working with schematics and troubleshooting electrical systems.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing.

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
