Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated PACS Imaging Manager to oversee and maintain the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), related imaging informatics systems, and the Medical Imaging Department. The PACS Imaging Manager will serve as the primary liaison between the radiology department, IT, and system vendors to ensure optimal performance, integration, and security of medical imaging data and workflow. Under general supervision of the Medical Imaging (Ml) Director, accomplishes the Medical Imaging Department's strategic objectives by assisting the Ml Director with planning, organizing, and supervising the assigned functions required to operate and maintain departmental activities and services. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations and performance of PACS, RIS, and associated imaging systems.
- Monitor system integrity, uptime, and data storage, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot PACS-related issues and provide timely technical support to radiologists, technologists, and clinicians.
- Collaborate with IT and clinical departments on system upgrades, migrations, and integration projects.
- Provide user training and support for PACS functionalities.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing for imaging systems.
- Analyze and optimize imaging workflow to improve efficiency and quality of care.
- Supervises the technical activities of the Medical Imaging department.
- Supervises and is responsible for oversight of all Medical imaging functions, including X-ray, Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasound, and Magnetic Resonance
- Imaging (MRI), Mammography/DEXA, Interventional Radiology, and the clerical staff.
- Coordinates and directs the daily operations of Sage Memorial Hospital Medical Imaging Department.
- Maintain clinical competencies and continuing education as required by certification/licensure.
- PACS Superuser; providing training, guidance, and troubleshooting to the technical staff regarding the PACS System.
- Meditech Superuser; providing training, guidance and troubleshooting to the technical staff regarding Radiology MEDITECH system.
- Responsible for the development of the student clinical rotation programs, proctorship, supervision, and oversight of radiology students. Ensuring the students are well prepared to sit for final board examinations.
- Assists with the development and implementation of an orientation program for new department employees and provides appropriate staff developmental opportunities.
- Develops and manages the department's staffing schedule.
- Assists in maintaining adequate staffing levels, conducting interviews, and making recommendations for the hiring of qualified candidates.
- Supervises and monitors job performance of each employee and provides input for annual performance evaluations, maintains staff competency skills, initiates individual performance plans, and assists with disciplinary actions, as necessary.
- Motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
- Maintains the radiation badge monitoring program: the radiation badges and the monthly dose reports for the staff.
- Enforces work safety policies and procedures to include the monitoring of excessive radiation dosages.
- Trains & develops Image Gently and Image Wisely program.
- Maintains ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable).
- Provides coaching, counseling, and training to ensure staff are fully trained regarding systems, policies and procedures and proper use and care of equipment. Supervises, operates, and maintains the operations of all fixed and portable radiographic systems.
- Maintains the records on Medical Imaging equipment preventive maintenance, service repairs, and quality control, as necessary.
- Oversee the imaging quality and technical accuracy of the Medical Imaging staff. Maintains the integrity and working order of equipment. Calls and coordinates with the OME/service contract vendor to coordinate preventative maintenance and service repairs.
- Notifies the Medical Imaging Director, ER Providers on-duty, and CMO if CT equipment is down, and the hospital must go onto Trauma Divert
- Assure all patient orders, lab work and consent forms are completed in a timely manner.
- Assists in developing and managing the quality and safety programs and ensures compliance with hospital accreditation requirements.
- Assists with ongoing review and revision of the departmental quality assurance initiatives to improve and provide ongoing patient safety and quality of care.
- Assists in preparation and providing monthly and quarterly reports to the organization's healthcare quality management program.
- Maintain collegial and effective communication with other departments.
- Maintain communication with financial billing office to ensure correct and current reimbursement for services provided by the department.
- Provide inventory control of supplies and equipment assigned to the department.
- Coordinate the department's technology needs; follow the procurement policy for the purchase of hardware and software.
- Assists with Joint Commission surveys, ACR (American College of Radiology) Accreditation and site surveys, and Al Bureau of Radiation surveys.
- Comply with the organization's policies and procedures. Ensures all diagnostic protocols remain current.
- Ensure compliance with all tribal, state, and federal laws, policies, and regulations.
- Always maintain strict confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as required by the Medical Imaging Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in radiologic sciences (BSRS)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certified in 2 or more modalities.
- Arizona licensure as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) and Computerized Tomography Technologist (CTCT).
- Five (5) years' experience in medical imaging with two (2) years progressive experience with supervisory/management in medical imaging, as well as experience and knowledge of medical imaging regulatory agencies, including but not limited to The Joint Commission, and the Arizona Department of Health Services.
- Must have a proven background of obtaining and maintaining more than one modality.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Must be able to pass the Employee Health Program requirements and background investigation successfully.
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:
- Knowledge of applicable tribal, federal, state, county, and local laws, regulations, including The Joint Commission Accreditation.
- Knowledge and background of obtaining and maintaining ACR accreditation in 2 or more Medical Imaging modalities.
