Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) or Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO), the Nursing Supply Technician is responsible for receiving, recording, processing, storing, maintaining, shipping, and distributing supplies, materials, equipment, and commodities for Sage Memorial Hospital (SMH). Upholds the principles of SMH's Vision, Mission, and Value statements. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information at all times.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
- Orders the correct type and usage of material needed for the clinical areas using practical knowledge of patient disease entities, knowledge, and understanding of medical procedures related to medical equipment, medical materials, and supplies.
- Receives, processes, stores, and distributes orders of supplies, materials, and/or equipment for the support of Sage Memorial Hospital and outlying clinics.
- Maintains inventory management and control of medical supplies for all clinical sites in collaboration with nursing leadership.
- Receives medical supplies and assures shipments are accurate, properly reported, and stored in the appropriate storage area, ensuring appropriate temperature, humidity, and in compliance with the logistics support center (LSC) standard.
- Performs physical inventories of property purchased by and used in the clinical settings; follows the procedures required to record, reconcile, maintain, and update a computerized inventory of this property.
- Performs tasks related to supply room management, including receiving, processing, storage, and distribution of orders for the support of Sage Memorial Hospital and outlying clinics.
- Makes the necessary provisions in maintaining sufficient and appropriate patient care supplies and equipment for the Nursing Department, Medical Staff, Outpatient Department, Emergency Room Department, and Inpatient care departments.
- Initiates purchasing processes by working with nursing leaders and the Purchasing Department, by complying with procurement processes such as obtaining three (3) quotations for supplies, equipment, and creating requisition requests.
- Generates and submits Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO) utilizing the Meditech system and performs follow-ups with relevant parties when ordering/receiving supplies.
- Organizes and files PRs, POs, and invoices. Conducts follow-ups on back orders with private vendors.
- Assures storage rooms are maintained in an orderly and clean manner.
- Makes unscheduled trips to obtain medical supplies as needed.
- Upholds all principles of confidentiality and patient care to the fullest extent.

- Adheres to the SMH Human Resources Personnel Policies and Procedures, departmental policies, rules, and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma required.
- Must possess three (3) years of experience in clinical and warehouse distribution is strongly preferred, preferably in the field of medical healthcare.
- Bilingual skills in English and Navajo language preferred.
- Must maintain an unrestricted, valid driver's license.
- Must successfully pass the Employee Health requirements (mask fit, immunizations), and Pre-Employment requirements (background investigation, drug screen).

Physical Demands:

Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in an office setting or outdoor work environment with a moderate noise level. Work environment may involve exposure to physical risks, such as blood-borne pathogens and operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals. Evening and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
