Job Title: House Manager (with Childcare Support)

Location: Larchmont/Mamaroneck, NY (10538)

Employment Type: Full-Time, 40 hours/week guaranteed; ability to work additional hours with OT pay; W2 position

Schedule: Monday-Friday, with primary hours between 8am-6pm; occasional date night childcare

Compensation: $35-$40/hour, based on experience

Start Date: June – September 2026

This role will involve a variety of responsibilities, including childcare, household management, and pet care. We value discretion, open communication, and a calm, well-organized home environment.

You'll be a key player in maintaining a harmonious household, offering support with everything from organizing and tidying up to running errands and helping with childcare.

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance:

  • Maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys)
  • Reset and tidy rooms daily; maintain overall neatness, ensure home is prepped for cleaning services
  • Maintain awareness of household schedules and calendars; familiarity with Skylight is a plus
  • Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding, etc.)
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop offs and pick ups
  • Support packing/unpacking for travel or seasonal transitions
  • Supervise or coordinate with service providers/vendors (e.g., handymen, cleaners, landscapers)
  • Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas
  • Take charge over overall organization; declutter; “every item has a home within the home” mentality

Family Support & Child Assistance:

  • Orchestrate daily school/activity pick-ups or drop-offs
  • Supervision, playtime, and back-up childcare
  • Prep backpacks, clothing, or snacks for school
  • Help with child-related laundry or errands

Inventory Management & Errands:

  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies
  • Create and manage running household supply lists
  • Coordination and management of running household supply lists and orders; pick-up Target orders
  • Handle package pickup and deliveries; cardboard boxes broken down

Laundry & Linen Care:

  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels)
  • Manage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, restock essentials
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies
  • Handle special care for delicates

Pet Care:

  • Feed dog(s) 2x/day and walk 2-3x/day
  • Schedule and coordinate vet and grooming
  • Keep pet supplies stocked and organized

Vehicle Management:

  • Schedule and oversee maintenance, oil changes, and inspections
  • Ensure vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and organized
  • Track registration, insurance, and service schedules

Vendor & Property Oversight:

  • Schedule and supervise service providers (cleaners, contractors, landscapers)
  • Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotes
  • Oversee outdoor spaces and seasonal maintenance needs
  • Serve as primary contact for vendors

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects:

  • Tackle occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards, etc.)
  • Maintain and refresh specific zones (entryways, garage, mudroom)
  • Ad hoc organizational special projects (e.g., toy storage, kid’s clothing rotation, etc.)

Meal Planning & Preparation:

  • Light meal prep of fruits and vegetables
  • Involve children in food prep to encourage healthy eating and expanded palates
  • Pack school lunches
  • Shop for groceries and meal-related items
  • Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support:

  • Awareness of family calendars and reminders
  • Assist with coordination of appointments
