What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Manager position at Sage Freight?
This position qualifies for a monthly bonus after initial training period and completion of Company Core Books (5 books).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers, responsible for tendering freight (phone calls, emails, zoom calls, QBRs).
- Develop relationships with customer vendors and utilize these relationships to obtain more business through referrals, word of mouth (phone calls, emails, zoom calls).
- Use market knowledge to price business, contractually and within the spot market (RFPs, mini bids, ad-hoc, spot board, projects, etc.)
- Work closely with operations to develop an acceptance strategy, tailored differently to each customer, to ensure service level expectations are being met while maintaining profitability.
- Direct your customers load board daily. Provide solutions and work closely with our coverage team to maximize profitability.
- Use customer data to collaborate and keep other departments engaged with how your book of business is performing/operating (sales, operations, BD, accounting, coverage).
- Provide out of the box solutions and sell all modes of transportation that Sage offers to expand our footprint with the customer: truckload, drayage, partial, LTL, refrigerated, flatbed, high value, oversized, bulk.
- Have a do whatever it takes attitude internally and externally. Have flexibility/willingness to work after hours to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Requirements/Skills:
- 18 months of third-party logistics experience.
- Experience with pricing for external customers (spot market, RFP’s).
- Proven track record of managing and executing a book of business.
- Ability to work across multiple departments in a collaborative manner.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
