Cook - Campus Dining

SAGE Dining Services® is seeking an experienced Cook for afternoon and evening service at a boarding school in Kent, Connecticut. SAGE seeks individuals who are passionate about food and community to create healthy and exciting meals from scratch.

This full time position covers multiple positions days off and is an integral part of our team lending support to almost every area of the kitchen. The perfect employee for this position will take guidance well while being able to take initiative and make independent decisions. We are looking for a strong culinarian who loves to learn and works well with different personalities.

We are looking for someone with solid cooking experience where they can put out a meal but also someone comfortable in the prep side of things. This is a boarding school, open seven days a week. We serve three meals a day, so we start at 6:00 AM and finish at approximately 8 PM. But of course, you wouldn’t work those hours!!

The teams at each of the schools we serve work together to provide safe, healthy, and varied meals made from scratch that reflect the tastes and preferences of each community. At the same time, our home office team works together to offer weekly pay, comprehensive year-round benefits, and continuous training. Schedule:

• Friday, Saturday, Monday 11:00am-7:30pm; Tuesday & Thursday 8:00am- 4:00pm
• Schedule does have some flexibility
• Available overtime for catering events with advance notice.

Pay Type: $20.00 -$25.00 Hourly

What you'll do:

• Prepare assigned menu items in strict accordance with SAGE recipes, safety, and allergen policies that exceed our guests’ expectations.
• Ensure that all food is appropriately displayed and visually appealing.
• Interact positively with SAGE guests and Team Members.
• Use proper food handling, storage, and sanitation techniques (HAACP).

• Experience with cooking in a commercial kitchen.
• Ability to understand and execute recipes and instructions in English.
• Ability to interact with SAGE guests and Team Members in a professional and positive manner.
