We’re seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and service-minded Member Service Representative (MSR) to join our team.

 

The Member Service Representative provides our members and communities with the opportunity to prosper through direct work with members and potential members. This position involves direct interaction with our members to identify needs, provide financial solutions, and promote products and services that enhance their financial well-being. In this role, you’ll connect directly with our members to understand their needs, provide solutions that support their financial well-being, and promote products and services that make their lives easier. Assist members with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments, as well as provides expertise with respect to Credit Union services such as IRAs, certificates of deposit, electronic funds transfer, home banking, etc. explains services, open new accounts, respond to problems, and direct members to the appropriate people. Actively cross-sell products and services benefiting our members to achieve or exceed all established sales goals and assist in meeting the Credit Union goals.

Essential Job Functions

  • Contribute to the fulfillment of Sage Credit Union's mission.
  • Deepen member relationships with Sage CU by maintaining current knowledge of all products and services, including the benefits and understanding of how they can benefit the member.
  • Receive and process member financial transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, loan payments, cash advances, coin processing, Sage CU card maintenance and gift/travel card sales to members.
  • Achieve or exceed the established sales goals through building of member relationships and referring products and services to meet member needs.
  • Take ownership of personal development by leveraging monthly coaching and participate in continuing education to qualify for MSR 2.
  • Assist with branch opening and closing.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, higher education is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of financial services or related experience preferred.
  • Customer service and/or retail experience is strongly preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Detail oriented and good organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Motivated to learn and grow within the position and credit union.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Scheduling flexibility required.

 

Physical Considerations

  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) is necessary.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Stooping; kneeling; crouching; and reaching below, at, and over shoulder level required.
  • Sitting – 80%; standing and walking - 20%.
  • Hearing, visual, and verbal ability required.

The good faith hourly salary range for this position is $17/hr - $27/hr. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, including bonafide factors, operational needs, and the finalized job description. The hourly salary may vary above or below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
