Senior Carpenter

Job Responsibilities

Project Management

• Manage assigned remodeling projects from demolition through completion.
• Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
• Review project plans, specifications, and selections before work begins.
• Coordinate daily jobsite activities.
• Schedule subcontractors and verify they arrive as planned.
• Order and verify materials before they are needed.
• Identify potential delays and communicate solutions immediately.
• Maintain daily job logs and progress updates in Buildertrend.
• Conduct final walkthroughs and complete punch lists.

Carpentry & Construction

• Perform skilled finish and rough carpentry.
• Install cabinetry, trim, doors, windows, flooring, and other finish materials.
• Complete framing and structural modifications when required.
• Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
• Ensure all work meets Sage Construction quality standards.
• Protect customer property throughout construction.
• Keep jobsites clean, organized, and safe.

Customer Communication

• Serve as the primary on-site contact for homeowners.
• Provide professional updates throughout the project.
• Answer customer questions promptly.
• Document customer requests or change orders.
• Notify the office immediately of any issues affecting schedule or budget.
• Ensure customers have a positive experience from start to finish.

Team Leadership

• Direct laborers and carpenters on daily tasks.
• Train newer employees on Sage Construction standards.
• Hold subcontractors accountable for quality and schedule.
• Foster teamwork and maintain a positive jobsite culture.
• Lead by example through professionalism and work ethic.

Quality Control

• Inspect all work before considering it complete.
• Verify measurements before ordering or installing materials.
• Ensure cabinets, trim, flooring, tile, and finishes meet company standards.
• Correct deficiencies before homeowner walkthroughs.
• Complete quality inspections at major project milestones.

Safety

• Follow OSHA safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free jobsite.
• Properly use PPE and safety equipment.
• Secure tools and materials daily.
• Report accidents or safety concerns immediately.

Administrative Duties

• Update Buildertrend daily with:
• • Daily logs
  • Photos
  • Schedule updates
  • Customer communication
  • Material needs
• Submit receipts promptly.
• Track labor hours accurately.
• Report change orders immediately.
• Verify deliveries and material quantities.

Authority

The Project Manager/Carpenter has authority to:
