Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Wealth Management Advisor & Financial Planner located in Greenville, SC. This is a genuinely dual role — you will serve equally as a trusted client advisor and as a hands-on financial planner. You’ll spend meaningful time both deepening client relationships and building rigorous, personalized financial plans.

On the advisor side, you will guide clients through investment decisions, portfolio management, and wealth management strategy — acting as their primary point of trust and accountability. On the planner side, you will develop comprehensive, written financial plans covering retirement, tax strategy, insurance, and estate planning, and you will regularly revisit and refine those plans as client circumstances and market conditions evolve.

The right candidate is equally energized by client-facing relationship work and by the technical depth of financial planning. If you excel at one but find the other draining, this role may not be the right fit — and that’s okay. We’re looking for someone who genuinely thrives in both.

What You’ll Do

As an Advisor:

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for a defined client base, building deep trust and long-term loyalty.
  • Guide investment decisions and portfolio strategy aligned with each client’s goals, risk tolerance, and timeline.
  • Represent Sage Capital at professional and community events, expanding your network and the firm’s visibility.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and hold them accountable to client outcomes and service standards.

As a Planner:

  • Develop comprehensive, written financial plans covering retirement, tax efficiency, insurance, and estate planning.
  • Conduct detailed discovery meetings to understand the full financial picture of each household.
  • Regularly review, update, and stress-test plans as client circumstances and market conditions change.
  • Apply expertise in tax codes, insurance, retirement plan structures, and estate concepts to deliver actionable guidance.

Qualifications

  • CFP® required, or CFP® candidate within 12 months of completion; CPA is a plus.
  • 4–8 years of experience in financial planning and/or advisory roles with direct client interaction.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships while also producing thorough, written financial plans.
  • Working knowledge of individual tax codes, retirement plan structures, insurance, and estate planning concepts.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; equally comfortable in a planning meeting and a social setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Series 7/65/66 licensing preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and discretion in handling sensitive client information.
  • Technical proficiency with: Orion, Redtail, MyRepChat, Holistiplan, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Fluent in both the relationship side and the technical side of financial services — and energized by the combination.
  • Personable, professional, and outgoing, with a proactive, “can-do” attitude in every client interaction.
  • Passionate about both financial planning craft and investment markets, with a genuine drive for continuous learning.
  • Collaborative team player who holds partners accountable for client success without losing sight of the bigger picture.

Career Growth

This role offers a well-defined path to a Senior Advisor position. Because you’ll be developing both relationship management and planning expertise from day one, you’ll be well-positioned to take on greater client responsibility and leadership within the firm.

Apply today to join a client-first, growth-oriented team where your planning skills and your people skills are equally valued.
