SGI Equipment Mechanic
Location: Sagamore Spring Golf Club (Lynnfield, MA) & Mt. Hood Golf Course (Melrose, MA)
Position Summary
Sagamore Golf, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Equipment Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair golf course maintenance equipment and related machinery. This position will be based at Sagamore Spring Golf Club (Lynnfield, MA), but may need to travel to Mt. Hood Golf Course (Melrose, MA) to help support its equipment staff. The candidate will ensure that all equipment is maintained in safe, efficient working condition to support daily golf course operations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, be self-motivated, and have experience with diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, and turf maintenance equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on all golf course maintenance equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issues.
- Maintain and repair mowing equipment, utility vehicles, tractors, loaders, irrigation pumps, and other maintenance equipment.
- Sharpen, grind, and adjust cutting units to manufacturer's specifications.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment service schedules.
- Manage parts inventory and coordinate ordering of replacement parts and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all workplace safety procedures and OSHA standards.
- Assist in evaluating equipment replacement needs and capital equipment planning.
- Coordinate with Golf Course Superintendents and maintenance staff at both facilities to prioritize repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize operational downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment at both locations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining turf equipment, agricultural equipment, automotive equipment, or similar machinery.
- Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, welding, and fabrication.
- Ability to diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs independently.
- Experience with Toro, John Deere, Jacobsen, Kubota, or similar turf equipment preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation between facilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
