We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Controls Service Technician. This role is ideal for someone looking to start a career in controls. The technician will assist in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of control systems used in industrial and commercial environments such as: Cal Fire, Forrest Service, service bases for powder and liquid manufacturing plants.

- Assist in the installation and setup of control panels and related equipment
- Perform basic troubleshooting of electrical and control systems
- Support senior technicians during service calls and scheduled maintenance
- Document service activities and maintain accurate records
- Learn and follow safety protocols and company procedures
- Travel to customer sites as needed (local/regional)
- Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicle in good working condition.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders or stairs
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Visual acuity to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and computer screens
- Occasional work in confined spaces or elevated areas
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection
- Work is performed in a combination of shop, field, and customer site environments
- Exposure to varying weather conditions when working outdoors
- May be exposed to loud noises, dust, chemicals, and other industrial hazards
- Travel required to customer locations, which may include overnight stays
- Standard work hours with occasional overtime or weekend work depending on project needs
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or Trade School education in electrical or control systems (preferred).
- Alternatively, 2–5 years of relevant industry experience without formal education.
- Basic understanding of electrical components and wiring.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
