Job Overview:
As an Expediter, you will be responsible for ensuring that all food orders are prepared, plated, and delivered to guests promptly and accurately. You will play a key role in maintaining the flow of service, quality control, and communication between the Culinary and Service teams.

- Order Coordination:
- Receive and prioritize food orders from the POS system.
- Coordinate timing between different kitchen stations to ensure dishes are prepared and plated simultaneously.
- Ensure that each dish is presented according to Saftas standards and specs before it leaves the kitchen.
Quality Control:
- Inspect each plate for proper presentation
- Ensure that dishes are hot and properly garnished before leaving the pass.
- Communicate with the kitchen team if any dish needs to be re-fired or adjusted.
- Adhere to the established allergy matrix
Communication:
- Act as the primary communication link between the and the Service and culinary team.
- Relay any special instructions, dietary restrictions, or modifications to the kitchen staff, have a thorough understanding of the allergy matrix
- Notify servers when orders are ready in a calm and consistent way, adhering to the open kitchen guidelines
- Coordinate courses to maintain a smooth dining experience for guests.
Timing Management:
- Monitor the flow of orders and manage the pacing of food preparation to ensure timely service during peak hours,
- Maintain a clean and organized expo station throughout service.
Problem-Solving:
- Quickly address any issues that arise during service, such as missing or incorrect orders, and work with the Culinary and Service team to resolve them.
- Ensure that any delays or problems are communicated effectively to the Service team members and management .
- Perform all other duties, as assigned. .
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, managing multiple tasks in a high-energy environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality dishes.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with strong communication skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing for extended periods, often for the entire shift.
- Lifting and carrying items such as pots, pans, and trays weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Bending, reaching, and stooping to perform tasks around the kitchen.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to heat, cold, and humidity.
