What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Labor- First Shift position at Safety Rail Company?
- Handling and moving objects while following all safety procedures.
- Accurately assemble and ship products
- Load and unload semi-trailers by forklift.
- Use of equipment for packaging (drill, nail gun, saw)
- Organizing and maintaining a clean/inventoried warehouse
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the powder coating line.
- Participate in maintenance as needed.
- Master the use of hand tools/equipment used in packaging.
- Conduct oneself in a professional, safe and businesslike manner when on-site at SRC facilities. This includes stringent adherence to SRC and customer corporate policies. Advocate with peers to conduct themselves in the same professional manner.
- Follow process/direction on other duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Familiar with hand tools and power tools.
- Basic computer skills.
- Organizational and prioritization skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects (75-100 lbs.) and perform various physical tasks such as bending, stooping, sitting, walking, twisting, and standing regularly. Must have good dexterity to operate hand tools and paint sprayers and must also have normal vision with or without corrective lenses.
- Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to various conditions, including loud noise and hot temperatures.
- Forklift experience and powder coating experience is preferred but we will train the right candidate.
- Professionalism: Conduct yourself in a professional, safe, and businesslike manner while maintaining a positive, collaborative attitude.
- Reliability: Can make the daily commute to Spring Park, MN and maintain good attendance.
- Pre-employment Requirements: Successful completion of a pre-employment background check, full panel drug screening, and physical work simulation.
- Training: Completion of necessary training requirements provided by SRC.
