What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Coordinator position at Safety Management Group, LLC?
Description
- Schedule and coordinate construction work activities; issue work permits and ensure work is executed safely and according to project requirements.
- Coordinate contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with site safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct jobsite inspections and identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and potential hazards.
- Facilitate safety meetings, pre-task planning sessions, and contractor orientations.
- Track and follow up on corrective actions, safety observations, incidents, and compliance issues.
- Serve as the primary liaison between construction, safety, and project teams to communicate expectations and resolve field issues.
Requirements
- Construction/Management Degree or equivalent experience
- 5 years of construction project management experience
- Effective organizational and communication skills
- Construction cost estimating and scheduling experience
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Proficient in MS Project (ability to create, update, and manage schedules)
- Ability to work weekends and provide evening coverage
- Experience managing civil and mechanical construction projects
Physical Demands of the job may include:
- Moving about long distances
- Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders
- Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
- Working in extreme weather
- Being exposed to loud noises
- Wearing personal protective gear correctly
