Summary:
Services all agencies within assigned territory for all commercial lines of business written
Duties:
- Renews commercial insurance applications for new and renewal business and endorsement requests to evaluate acceptance eligibility according to underwriting and time service guidelines
- Prices commercial policies in accordance with rating plans, underwriting, and time service guidelines
- Responsible for ordering and review of inspection reports, premium audits and building evaluation calculations as required for risks within assigned territory
- Responsible for referral underwriting from underwriters with less underwriting authority
- Responsible for the mentoring, training and development of the less experienced underwriters
- Responsible for helping management achieve department goals
- Responds to internal inquiries regarding claims, underwriting guidelines, state rules, regulations and general questions regarding commercial coverage and forms
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with agents including in person and virtual meetings with agents and clients
- Performs other duties as required
Qualifications:
- College degree required
- CPCU preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a commercial underwriter or similar experience required
Salary : $95,000 - $120,000
