Job DescriptionPosition Overview
Safety First is hiring dependable and professional Unarmed Security Guards for full-time and part-time positions throughout Connecticut. This role offers the opportunity to work at a variety of client locations including residential communities, commercial properties, event venues, construction sites, hotels, and private facilities.
We are seeking individuals who are reliable, observant, and committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols
- Monitor premises, entrances, exits, and access points
- Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, or policy violations
- Respond appropriately to incidents, disturbances, and emergencies
- Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation
- Enforce site rules, policies, and procedures
- Provide professional customer service to clients, residents, employees, and visitors
- Assist with crowd control and site monitoring when needed
- Maintain a visible security presence to help deter theft, vandalism, and trespassing
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, emergency responders, and team members
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Connecticut Security Guard License (Guard Card)
- Ability to pass a background check
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between job sites if needed
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in security, customer service, law enforcement, or military
- CPR/AED or First Aid certification
- Experience writing incident reports and handling emergency situations
