Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Call Taker / Dispatcher to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will coordinate emergency and non-emergency transports, manage communication channels, and ensure seamless dispatching of our ambulance services. Your proactive approach will help us deliver timely assistance while maintaining high standards of professionalism and efficiency.
Duties
- Answer incoming calls promptly using multi-line phone systems, providing clear and courteous communication.
- Gather essential information from callers regarding patient needs, location details, and transportation requirements.
- Dispatch ambulances efficiently using Traumasoft CAD System.
- Monitor GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data to track ambulance locations and optimize routing.
- Coordinate with fleet management teams to ensure vehicles are prepared for scheduled or emergency responses.
- Maintain accurate data entry records related to dispatch activities.
- Communicate effectively with EMS crews, drivers, healthcare providers, and other callers to facilitate smooth operations.
Experience
- Prior experience in call taking or ambulance/paratransit dispatching is preferred.
- Strong analysis skills to assess situations quickly and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills with phone etiquette proficiency to handle diverse callers professionally.
- Ability to operate multi-line phone systems and CAD platforms.
- Demonstrated typing speed and accuracy to ensure precise record keeping in fast-paced settings.
