Job Summary: At SafeTouch Security, our Commercial Security Systems Service Technicians are responsible for repairing, maintaining, and installing security systems in commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing top-notch customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain or repair commercial security systems, including access control, CCTV, gate systems, and other related technologies.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their security needs, provide recommendations, and explain system functionalities and features.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on security systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with security systems, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime for clients.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on system operations and functionalities.
- Ensure proper placement and neat wiring of security devices, cameras, sensors, and control panels in compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
- Operate equipment and tools to cut and saw concrete for pavement projects.
- Perform drilling and digging tasks as required for site preparation.
- Mix construction materials to proper specifications for use on job sites.
- Excavate trenches for utilities or structural foundations.
- Backfill and compact trenches and excavations to ensure site stability.
- Maintain all required documentation, including service reports, work orders, and system diagrams of service calls, repairs, and inspections per company policies.
- Work closely with other technicians, departments, and vendors to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Keep an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and parts, ensuring necessary supplies are on hand for each job.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance service delivery.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and maintaining professional communication.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Follow safety procedures and keep the job site clean, organized, and hazard-free, including thorough clean-up at the end of each project and workday.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
- Other duties as business needs require.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in security systems or related preferred.
- Adept in installing and servicing electronic security, including access control, low voltage, or electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of electronic systems, networking, wiring, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience operating hand tools, power equipment, and heavy machinery.
- Sound familiarity with electrical codes and regulations.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Pass drug screening and background requirements.
- Valid driver's license and insurance-approved driving record. Maintain compliance with SafeTouch’s fleet driving policy.
- Bilingual is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including attics, crawl spaces, and roofs.
- Stand, walk, or remain seated at a desk for extended periods.
- Move equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
- Observe details at close range.
- Handle products, take notes, operate technology, and present information.
- Read documents and presentations using electronic devices and hard copy materials while interacting with others.
- Exchange accurate information in person, over the phone, in writing, and electronically.
- Communicate clearly and articulately for presentations and interpersonal interactions so others will understand.
- May be exposed to loud noise.
- Drive to work, client sites, and as business needs require.
- Navigate uneven or slippery surfaces or both.
- Safely ascend and descend stairs and ladders as needed.
- Bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods.
- Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to safely operate hand tools, power equipment, and heavy machinery.
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as digging and sawing.
Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt
Work/Base Location: Tampa II
Work Hours/Availability: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Overtime as business needs require. Participate in an on-call rotation, with a $75 stipend per on-call period.
Travel: 25 – 30%, including some potential overnight stays.
Pay Range: $28 – $35 per hour (commensurate with experience)
