Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with autism, to implement behavior intervention plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. This role involves working in many different locations around the Jackson, MI area. You will meet clients in group homes, rehabilitation centers, crisis centers, and other settings. Your primary focus will be to support clients in achieving their goals during monitoring sessions, where you will collect data, write notes, and apply skills of ABA by creating individualized treatment plans.

Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a master 's-level student in ABA.
  • Assist clients and staff with different ideas of care to promote independence and self-care skills.
  • Collect and record data on client progress and behavior changes accurately and consistently.
  • Teach social skills, communication techniques, and coping strategies to enhance client interactions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding client information.
  • Document medical records and maintain care plans as required by organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with families and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each client.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of behavioral therapy techniques and principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of special education practices and patient care standards.
  • Proficient in data collection methods and behavior management strategies.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, documentation, and record-keeping practices.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and adaptability in challenging situations.
