Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic Distributor Sales Manager to lead/enhance our existing sales team and drive strategic growth. This role combines sales leadership, business development, and relationship management to ensure both short-term revenue success and long-term business expansion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, management, and business development, demonstrating a balance of account ownership, strategic thinking, and execution.
Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed assigned quota by selling Anti-slip Safety products.
- Continuously work with management to refine sales strategy to optimize efficiency and results.
- Implements North American Distributor sales program and assisting in the development of the same for the international markets in developing sales action plans.
- While serving existing accounts, and reactivating older accounts, one will obtain orders and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules to call on existing or potential sales vehicles and other trade organizations.
- Keep management informed by submitting weekly reports, weekly work plans and monthly and annual territory/market analyses/reviews.
- Recommend changes in products, service and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Some Domestic & International(Canada) Travel may be required up to (~3-5%).
- Coordinate and staff tradeshow booth(s) with and without local distributors.
- Work with sales support personnel sending samples and marketing information/literature.
- Work with our external/internal marketing groups to create marketing plans for target markets.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Meets Safeguard’s service standards in all aspects of customer service and interaction.
Competencies:
- Strategy & Planning: Develop annual business plans and sales strategies to increase market share within the North American distributor market.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with distributor owners and key personnel.
- Performance Monitoring: Use KPIs and CRM tools to track distributor sales, manage pipelines, and provide accurate forecasts.
- Training & Coaching: Conduct product training for distributor staff and provide support for field prospecting and sales calls.
- Contract Negotiation: Provide input on price structures, rebate programs, and service agreements as required.
- Maintain accurate files: Be able to provide a full detailing of the reps under agreement and the terms of each agreement and maintaining this data in a distributor file on the company server.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market trends, competitor activities, and sales metrics to identify opportunities, not only products but market segments.
- Leadership: Experience leading sales teams or influencing distributor personnel to achieve targets.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for presenting proposals and resolving client issues.
- Technical Proficiency: Often requires CRM software expertise and knowledge of specific product technical specifications.
Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
· B. S. or B. A. degree with concentration in Business, Marketing or Communications.
· Experience with industrial B2B sales, international experience is a bonus.
· Experience managing distributors and/or indirect sales chains.
· Excellent telephone skills and computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP system.
· High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
· Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented.
· Ability to work autonomously.
· Proven analytical skills.
· 5-10 years previous job experience in customer service, sales or sales support function.
