What are the responsibilities and job description for the Founder Operations Associate and Executive Assistant to CEO position at SafeCast AI?
About Jon Lee and SafeCast
Jon Lee is a repeat founder and operator who has built and sold five companies. Across Bazaar Advertising, DNA Games, Twurler, Copper CRM, and DataJoy, he has helped create more than $350 million in exit value, raised more than $165 million in venture capital, and hired hundreds of employees.
After selling DataJoy to Databricks, Jon stepped away for 2.5 years to reflect on what to build next and why. That journey led to SafeCast.
SafeCast exists to help ensure AI serves humanity, not the other way around. The company is focused on helping organizations in the relationship economy deliver on their promises, strengthen trust, reduce waste, and create more durable and profitable growth in areas where human relationships still drive the most important decisions.
This is an opportunity to work directly with a founder who has done this before and is building with urgency, conviction, and mission.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly dependable, organized, fast learning Executive Assistant and Founder Operations Associate to serve as Jon’s right hand.
This role is about leverage. You will help keep the founder on time, prepared, focused, and executing against the highest value priorities. You will also take ownership of basic administrative, operational, and outbound tasks so that important details do not slip.
This is a strong fit for someone who is competitive, disciplined, calm under pressure, and excited to learn how a repeat founder operates up close. Outstanding academic performance is preferred. STEM, economics, business, or similarly rigorous backgrounds are a plus, but what matters most is reliability, judgment, speed of learning, and follow through.
What You'll Do
Manage CEO calendar and scheduling.
Ensure the CEO is on time and prepared for all meetings.
Send reminders and follow ups as needed.
Track tasks and commitments and ensure completion.
Coordinate logistics such as meetings, travel, and basic planning.
Help maintain daily structure and priorities.
Handle basic administrative tasks, including scheduling, document organization, simple payroll and expense tracking, data entry, and general office support as needed.
Support founder outreach by researching contacts and sending customized LinkedIn messages to prospective candidates, partners, customers, or other relevant people.
Learn and use new technologies quickly, troubleshoot simple workflow issues, and help the founder stay organized across tools and systems.
Working Style
This role requires trust, honesty, and direct communication.
Jon will be candid with you, and he expects the same in return.
His strengths include storytelling, vision, operating experience, investing judgment, influence, and deep care for the people he works with.
Areas where this role can create outsized value include protecting against tunnel vision, improving calendar discipline, reinforcing follow through, and increasing leverage.
Why This Role Matters
The mission matters.
Humans are special because we build tools, cooperate at scale, and create meaning through relationships, language, morality, and community. But tools can also begin to shape us in unhealthy ways when we lose control of how they are used.
AI will be one of the most important technologies of our lifetime. It can amplify what makes us human, or it can erode it.
SafeCast is being built to help organizations use AI in a way that strengthens trust, improves delivery, reduces waste, and creates healthier long term outcomes.
If you care about entrepreneurship, human progress, and making sure technology serves people, this role offers a rare chance to help build something meaningful from the beginning.
Compensation and Benefits
Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $60,000 to $160,000 per year, depending on experience, capability, and scope.
Benefits will include healthcare.
This role has meaningful room to grow over time based on performance and trust.
