Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, forklifts, excavators, cranes, and other heavy equipment using schematics and technical manuals.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical systems including transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, electrical systems, and air brake components.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic software to troubleshoot issues accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and maintenance logs to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
- Assist with tire service, alignment procedures, shocks & struts replacement, and HVAC repairs for various vehicle types.
- Support heavy lifting tasks using cranes or forklifts while adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership or heavy equipment repair experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and vehicle mechanics.
- Knowledge of fabricating techniques and experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, or tractor-trailers.
- Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and mechanical diagrams for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Hands-on experience with diesel mechanics, heavy truck repair, suspension systems, power tools usage, welding techniques, and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to perform automotive electrical system repairs including HVAC systems and air brake components.
- Mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, vehicle systems for truck drivers, and general automotive repair skills.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy machinery such as excavators or cranes when required.
