Tax Preparer

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will possess strong understanding of tax laws, accounting principles, and financial software, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service. This role involves preparing individual and business tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and offering clients valuable financial insights. Prior experience in public accounting or corporate accounting is preferred, along with proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and other financial tools. The Tax Preparer will play a vital role in helping clients optimize their financial situations through accurate tax preparation and analysis.

Duties

• Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, small businesses, and corporations
• Analyze financial documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with current tax laws
• Utilize accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, and other financial software to organize client data
• Provide clients with advice on tax planning strategies to maximize deductions and credits
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations and industry best practices
• Assist clients with bookkeeping, payroll, and other financial services as needed
• Conduct analysis of financial statements to identify opportunities for savings or improvements
• Support marketing efforts to attract new clients through excellent customer service and professional expertise
• Perform data entry tasks such as 10 key typing with high accuracy for efficient processing

Experience

• Prior experience in public accounting or corporate accounting preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of tax experience and financial concepts
• Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms
• Strong math skills and analysis capabilities for complex financial assessments
• Experience in financial sales or marketing is a plus but not required
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly
• Familiarity with technical accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: $17.00 per hour
