What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinarian position at Safe Place for Animals?
Safe Place for Animals Veterinary Clinic, located in Gallatin, Tennessee (just 25 miles northeast of Nashville), is hiring a full-time Veterinarian to join our medical team. We are seeking a compassionate, experienced Veterinarian to provide comprehensive medical care to our vet clinic’s established and growing client base, as well as our shelter animals. Our vet clinic specializes in small/companion animals, particularly dogs and cats.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Examine, diagnose and prescribe/treat illness, disease and injury
- Annual/routine wellness and health status exams and care
- Administer vaccinations and implant microchips
- Conduct diagnostics (blood, urine, fecal, etc.)
- Prescribe and dispense medication
- Sedation, anesthesia and perform general surgery to include: spay and neuter, dental procedures, growth removal, etc.
- Euthanasia
- Advise/consult pet owners on nutrition, preventive healthcare and general pet care
- Record actions by documenting and updating forms, reports, client/patient records
- Ensure compliance with veterinary procedures, ethics, policies and relevant statutes
Qualifications:
- DVM, licensed to practice medicine in the state of TN
- Ability to complete full medical work-ups and perform surgery independently

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

- Gallatin, TN 37066: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
