Full Job Description
Safe Journey House is seeking Full-time and Part-time crisis counselors and weekend counselors. Safe Journey House is a Residential Crisis Program in Prince George's County and we have expanded to Charles County, Montgomery County, and most recently Howard County. We operate 24/7. Social Worker candidates will be eligible to receive tuition reimbursement! A Bachelor's degree is required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to patients with serious and persistent mental health diagnoses
- Maintain accurate client documentation/records
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary system
- Work with multi-need clients; psychiatric, medical/substance abuse
Who Should Apply:
- Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the Social Sciences
- Individuals interested in secondary employment, such as graduate students
- The position is an entry-level opportunity. The expectation is 6 to 12 months of the job training to prepare for a long-term career in behavioral health
- Reliable transportation
- Desire to work with persons who have Serious and Persistent Mental Illness
