What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian (Cleaning & Grounds Maintenance) position at SAFE House?
Responsibilities:
Perform custodial duties such as cleaning and maintaining assigned areas.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies.
Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, tables, and windowsills.
Cleans snow and debris from walkways; picks up refuse from grounds; mows, trims, and prunes landscape.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and replacing toilet paper dispensers.
Follow established safety procedures and guidelines.
Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
Experience:
Previous experience in commercial cleaning or custodial work preferred.
Knowledge of floor care techniques, including buffing and waxing, is a plus
Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards.
