Data Specialist - Counseling Center The Data Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining compliance with all federal evaluation requirements (NOMs) of a new five-year collaborative initiative, funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) National Child Traumatic Stress Initiative (NCTSI) called Project REACH. The goal of REACH is to raise the standard of care and increase access for school aged children experiencing trauma to evidence-based and anti-oppressive trauma intervention within Safe Horizon’s Child Trauma cluster of programs. These programs include the SHCC, the Child Trauma Response Team (CTRT), Safe Way Forward (SWF), and our 5 Child Advocacy Centers (CACs). This child trauma initiative also includes tracking client outcomes to influence citywide systems & practice enhancements in collaboration with national evidence-based treatment model developers, government partners, and a diverse array of internal stakeholders. The Data Specialist takes a lead role in contacting all new REACH clients to conduct baseline, follow-up, and discharge assessments that will allow the program to assess its effectiveness in achieving desired outcomes for traumatized children and their families. The Data Specialist is required to maintain meticulous data tracking to ensure full compliance with all federal reporting requirements and regulations. The availability of new clients to participate in these outcome evaluation activities will vary. Therefore, this is a position with flexible hours (may require up to 20 hours per week) that will include evening and weekend hours. This position is a one-year-term assignment with the possibility of renewal each year until the REACH program grant ends on 09/29/2028. The Data Specialist reports to the Senior Director of SAMHSA Child Trauma Initiatives and works very closely with the REACH Project Director. Responsibilities: · Using the data systems of the SHCC, CTRT, SWF, and CACs, the Data Specialist will track all new clients who receive at least one REACH service daily. · Conducting baseline assessment with each new client and scheduling and conducting 6-month follow-up and discharge assessments with all clients in compliance with all SAMHSA and other federal regulations. · Obtaining informed consent from caregivers in compliance with federal regulations · Tracking completion of all assessments to ensure that they happen with in required timeframes · Conducting outreach to ensure maximum participation · Completing all necessary data entry within required timeframes · Maintaining records of gift card distribution and reconciliation · Coordinating with the Senior Director, REACH Project Director, and Research & Evaluation Department in support of all evaluation activities · Coordinating with program leadership in all sites to promote maximum participation in evaluation · Coordinate with the Senior Director, REACH Project Director, and Research & Evaluation Department to ensure timely and meaningful reporting of evaluation data to the funder and to the Steering Committee · Providing these assessment services in support of additional SAMHSA grant activities as necessary Shift: This is a casual employment position with evening and some weekend hours. Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree or 2 years’ experience in direct service with survivors of trauma strongly preferred · One year of experience in administering clinical assessment instruments and/or conducting psychological and/or safety assessments with survivors of trauma · Great attention to detail and excellent organizational skills · Meticulous documentation and data tracking skills · Strong preference for candidates who are able to conduct evaluations in Spanish If hired, I agree to abide by all of Safe Horizon’s rules and regulations, and understand that, if employed, my employment may be terminated with or without cause, and with or without notice, at any time, at the option of either the company or me. Hiring Pay Range: 22.81 - 23.94 Hourly
