- Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine client needs and treatment plans
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA)
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health emergencies effectively and ensure client safety
- Provide specialized counseling for issues including grief, addiction, PTSD care, gender identity concerns, chronic pain management, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, geriatrics, and special education needs
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations; record progress notes, treatment plans, and case management activities in electronic medical records
- Facilitate intake assessments to establish client rapport and develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical research standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Engage in telehealth sessions when appropriate to expand access to mental health services across diverse settings
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field; licensure or certification as required by state law for practicing therapists
- Proven experience working with adolescents or adults in outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health treatments including psychotherapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing and behavioral management strategies
- Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation
- Experience delivering crisis management and crisis intervention services effectively under pressure
- Proficiency in medical terminology and medical records management; understanding of HIPAA compliance standards
- Skills in patient assessment, case management, group therapy facilitation, and social work practices
- Experience with telehealth platforms and delivering remote therapy sessions is highly desirable
- Ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders; experience with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) preferred
- Knowledge of CPT coding for billing purposes; familiarity with research methodologies is a plus
