Mental Health Therapist

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our small private practice. • Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine client needs and treatment plans
• Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA)
• Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health emergencies effectively and ensure client safety
• Provide specialized counseling for issues including grief, addiction, PTSD care, gender identity concerns, chronic pain management, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, geriatrics, and special education needs
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations; record progress notes, treatment plans, and case management activities in electronic medical records
• Facilitate intake assessments to establish client rapport and develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical research standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care
• Engage in telehealth sessions when appropriate to expand access to mental health services across diverse settings

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field; licensure or certification as required by state law for practicing therapists
• Proven experience working with adolescents or adults in outpatient or inpatient settings.
• Strong knowledge of behavioral health treatments including psychotherapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing and behavioral management strategies
• Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation
• Experience delivering crisis management and crisis intervention services effectively under pressure
• Proficiency in medical terminology and medical records management; understanding of HIPAA compliance standards
• Skills in patient assessment, case management, group therapy facilitation, and social work practices
• Experience with telehealth platforms and delivering remote therapy sessions is highly desirable
• Ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders; experience with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) preferred
• Knowledge of CPT coding for billing purposes; familiarity with research methodologies is a plus

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
